Tyalgum Ridge Retreat Wedding of Danny and Danielle

August 12, 2022

They went with a simple, light boho and rustic theme for their day, and it worked out so well!

Tell me about your The Beginning!

We first met when we were 14 and 15 years old at South Tweed Football fields. Danielle would go down with her friends to watch their older brothers play football. That is where Danny played football and where we first became acquaintances. We barely spoke to each other between then up until we were 20 and 21 years old when we reconnected.

When I (Danielle) had recently been put on Tinder by one of my close girlfriends. I barely used it unless I was with them having a laugh and didn’t speak with anyone on it. One day I received a message on Facebook from Danny asking me “Don’t you have a boyfriend?” I replied, “No, not for a while, why?” He then said, “I saw you on tinder and thought you had a boyfriend”. He thought he had caught me out. From there we spoke for days non-stop and I finally caved and we organised our first “date” at Wahoos’. We ate and sat at Burleigh hill for hours on end talking and ever since then we have been inseparable.

When and where did you get engaged?

Danny proposed New Years’ Eve 2020 surrounded by some of our friends whilst on a camping trip to Misty Mountain.

Danny knew that I am very cluey and catch on to the most obvious things. He planned with his mates to all gather together once they all arrive and get a group photo, he then told the boys to suggest couple photos knowing I would say I wanted one too. Once it was our turn all cameras were on us but I still had no idea. As I began to walk away I turned back to see him down on one knee. My initial reaction was he is tricking me and the first words I said were “Are you joking?” I then realised that there was a ring and this was serious. Instant tears ran down my face before I could even say yes our friends began jumping on us and celebrating
